A waffle baker, grill, and griddle, this three-in-one appliance comes in handy during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and after school. Key to the unit's versatility are two 8-inch-square cooking plates--one set into the product's bottom and the other into the hinged top. On one side the plates form grids for making four waffles at once. Flipped over to show their flat sides they're capable of top and bottom grilling a sandwich or steak. The few times I have tried to use this waffle iron the waffles have stuck so bad that I had to soak and scrub them off. I just stuck the waffle iron in the closet out of frustration. I even oiled it before pouring the batter on to see if that would help. It didn't. I've never had such a bad waffle iron.

Despite some negative reviews, I purchased this waffle iron to replace my old one. My old one was the exact same design, but by another maker (Grill Max, I think). My previous waffle iron was amazing and lasted seven years. I used it about 4 times a month for the last 5 years. No really. I love waffles. I never had any issues with it, until one day something blew and it wouldn't power on anymore. So I decided to try the Black and Decker version. Maybe I just got a defective one. But the bottom plate wouldn't stay on. It kept popping off...as soon as I got it out of the box. I certainly can't cook with a waffle iron if the plate won't stay down on the heating element.

Trying to save space and time, I purchased this waffle baker to replace a much smaller one and a very nice Cuisinart Griddler for pancakes. And since I only seem to make waffles and pancakes when we have a crowd, I wanted them to come out fast and plenty. The new B&D Waffle Baker does a great job on the waffles, but used as a griddle, heats unevenly. We love the waffles and the ease of cleaning. Overall, a good choice, but not as good outside the waffle making. I guess I'l have to make space for both the B&D and the Cuisinart!

Overall, the waffle iron is almost identical to the one I bought 30 yrs ago. Works well except it cooks quicker on one side than the other. Not a deal breaker but not preferable. Much better than anything I found on the shelf at any of the box stores.

Very cheaply made. Seemed like an ok buy especially since I don't use a microwave all that often. After 3 months it stopped working. The motor would work for 10 sec and then stop for 5 while the plate in the microwave is still rotating.

Rarely do I truly feel like I got my money's worth when it comes to kitchen appliances. But the mini food processor from Cuisinar has been a great addition to my kitchen and helped easy a novice chef into cooking.

Let me start by saying that this thing shreds just about everything with ease. Don't let the size fool you, it's got power and the blades are sharp. I haven't had any issues yet with chopping anything and been surprised at how easy it's been.

The next great benefit is the ease of cleaning. It's been through the dishwasher countless times and come out perfect every time. The smaller size means it doesn't fill up the dishwasher either and I can get some of the small food prep easily done with little mess. A must-have for anyone who is not typically making big meals.

All in all a durable, convenient, and affordable appliance. $40 well-spent for an item that can handle the food processing duties for someone who doesn't need a big, bulky one in their kitchen.

One important safety note. The blade is extremely sharp. I mean sharp enough to slice through a sponge with ease. So be real careful cleaning it by hand and even taking it out of the device. I was a little careless at first and it gave me a nasty cut without even noticing. One of the sharpest blades I've ever handled.

I read many of the reviews and was influenced by them, and I finally broke down and purchased one. It is my favorite kitchen appliance! It quickly chops nuts, herbs, garlic & ginger with amazing efficiency. A quick bread crumb maker and a good salad dressing mixer. It's great for making small pesto batches. It is very powerful. It fits together easily,and the best part is how easy it is to clean. Because it is so small it lives on our countertop for easy access. I considered getting the 2 cup processor but am very glad I didn't. Any smaller would be too small. It really is perfect. You will rarely use a full size food processor again, and then realize how cumbersome the full size processors are, and how difficult they are to clean. No regrets!

I owned a large cuisinart food processor for years. Although it could do many tasks well, it was so complicated that I nearly always had to re-read the instructions each time I used it and it often took longer to clean its many parts than to perform a task. It also took up a lot of storage space, so I gave it to my daughter when i started downsizing. I got by with a good blender and a sharp knife, but missed the processor, mostly for pesto & hummus with some crunch and for small amounts of salad dressing & for chopping garlic. When I saw the miniprep, I decided to give it a try. It is actually better than I expected. It performs just like my fancy old processor without all the fuss and cleanup. Takes up very little counter space in my very little kitchen, cleans easily, is SIMPLE to use and simple to clean to use again !

"Love it!" 2010-08-28

This is a great product. It does what it is supposed to do. The first time I used it, I made a mess and realized that I did not turn the bottom tight enough - never happened again. I've used it at least once a day to make fruit smoothies - and yes, I baby it (have learned to treat appliances gently), and I use a spoon to scrape some of the ingredients (fruit, wheat germ, or protein powder) off of the side when needed (not all the time) or loosen the stuff from the bottom (again, not all the time) - again very gently. It takes me ten minutes every morning to make my fruit/protein smoothie and they always taste great with the right consistency. I will write more after a few months to see how this holds up for the long term.

Because of the popular name, I expected much more. I found that I had a hard time getting foods to be blended evenly. They say that you get what you paid for, but it this case, I feel that I paid too much. I seem to struggle much more than I should with blending tasks. I own one of these, have had it for close to a year now. I does the job sufficiently, is easy to clean and use. The price is quite agreeable to me, and all the extra speeds - while not strictly necessary or helpful- add a sense of getting more bang. I mean, why pay for two speeds when you can have 16 for the same or less $! Now if you need to make granite puree or dispose of a corpse, you might have to shell out a little more - but I've crushed ice, made smoothies, shakes, soups, blended margaritas, etc, (in this machine) with great results. I've had other blenders before, and this one has outlasted the others. Oh, and I just bought another one - as a gift.

This was a good price and works well however it is very loud. Also the first 10-15 uses I noticed a very pronounced electric smell after running it. Didn't affect anything and it has since gone away. I drink smoothies in the morning for breakfast and the loud sound can be a little rough right after waking up. But hey, you get what you pay for. The thing works, blends well, and I like that I can stand the jar up and take it with me around the house while getting ready.

I got this blender to puree fruits and veggies for my 6 month old baby to eat. I have used it for peaches so far. It did a nice job of making a smooth puree. I am going to try green beans today. The box says it has a brushed nickel finish. It looks much more like chrome to me (very shiny). I would like it to have a 6 cup jar instead of 5 cup. I like all the choices for speeds.

"best crock pot slow cooker around" 2010-08-21

I have had this Hamilton Beach slow cooker for over 8 months now. I can verify that it is reliable, no problems so far after over 30+ uses. Even talked my relatives into getting one. Unfortunately I paid $49.99 for it at Wal-Mart, now it is $31.88 (better than Amazon's).

Like I said, I have been able to utilize all of it's features. I find the lid clamps to be extremely convenient and intuitive. Also, the food termometer works great! I've used it twice now and it has worked wonderfully!

Dishes that I have cooked so far: babyback ribs (2 different recipes), country ribs/saurkraut/red potatoes, homemade clam chowder, mac & cheese, turkey, pot roast/potatoes/carrots/onions, soups, several chilis, etc. All turned out great. Go to allrecipes and southernfood for 1000s of free recipes. You can pretty much cook anything in it.

I am disabled, and before purchasing this product, baking was almost impossible for me. Due to weakness in my hands, I really did not have the strength to be whisking and mixing ingredients together.

This was a bit of a hefty expenditure for me and my husband. Being newly married, money is a little tight. But we felt that it was an investment-something that will last us through the years. Already, it has proven itself to be a worthwhile purchase, and the house is regularly full of the pleasant smells of tasty treats and wholesome meals.

The mixer itself is very large, and might be worth other potential buyers being forewarned that it is also extremely heavy. I cannot lift or move this mixer myself, I have to ask my husband to do so. But this is not really a problem for me. The head lifts and lowers very smoothly, and the bowl attaches to the base so easily that it barely requires any effort. I do have problems managing to get the whist attachment in place (and removing it when needed) but this is probably a result of my weak grip. My husband manages it just fine when I ask him to do it for me.

This mixer has turned the hardest tasks into a simple matter of throwing the ingredients in the bowl and turning on the power. There are ten speed levels to choose from, (I barely find I need to go above the seventh or eighth speed setting) and I like that the mixer doesn't just spin the whisk, it also rotates. My mum used to have a mixer (different brand), and that one was not as good as this one because you were constantly having to stop the mixer and scrape down the sides of the bowl, because it would only whisk the mixture in the middle. Not so with this product! Everything is mixed without any effort from me whatsoever.

I do wish that the bowl came with a lip for pouring though. It's a bit difficult to get the mixture from the bowl into the baking pan. Aside from that though, great product! Clean up is very easy. The whisk (or whatever attachment you're using) simply goes in the dishwasher (as does the bowl) and comes out looking as good as new.

It's a large appliance, and mine takes up a fair amount of space on the kitchen counter. It's too heavy for me to store it out of the way (Plus I use it so often there's no point) but I think it looks nice (even without a cover over it).

All in all, this is definitely value for money and a great product.

I received my order on time, as was stated. However, the box came as is; no outer shipping box or even brown shipping paper to conceal this expensive item. Just a shipping label slapped on the side of the box. To make things worse, FedEx just knocked and left the package on my doorstep. Good thing I was home, as anyone could see this item's contents as plain as day!! I would definitely encourage the seller to make better choices when it comes to shipping an expensive item such as this.

I have had this Kitchenaid mixer for nearly 7 years. I bought it because the high-powered Mixmaster, which I preferred, was not available at that time for a period of about 5 months in my area. While it is solid, and on many jobs does a decent job, it is very hard to use. The bowl is very hard to remove after mixing something, unless you lubricate it frequently, and even then is anything but a simple task. On top of that, its highest speed is pretty slow; fast enough for a lot of things, but not even close to the speed of hand mixers. It gets a lot of praise for its dough making ability. I have used it for that, and have no problem with it, but there are better ways to make bread, and I haven't used the Kitchenaid for bread if four years. People use stand mixers for cakes and cookies much more than bread. Being confined to the one large bowl is also a problem, as compared with the Mixmaster. Some mixing is better done in a small bowl.

Having put a lot of money in it, I am reluctant to buy a different one, but if I could give the Kitchenaid to someone who would appreciate it, I would do so, and buy a higg-powered Mixmaster.

this is the first standing mixer I ever bought and I love it. It's nice not to have to hold it and it mixes much better than a hand held one. I know people aren't crazy about he bread making part but I don't use it. I have a bread maker. We purchased the Pure Indulgence Ice Cream Maker about two months ago and have used it three times to make fresh strawberry and peach ice cream. This machine has made absolutely delicious ice cream every time and has been easy, quick, and fun to use and clean up. Our grandson (and the grown-ups as well!) loves the anticipation of eating ice cream as well as watching the ice cream maker churn. Fortunately, we have the freezer space in which to store the interior freezer bowl so it stays adequately cold allowing us to make ice cream at a moment's notice (assuming the ingredients are on hand). We have not yet tried making sorbet or yogurt. There are so many easy recipes in the book which comes with the machine, and we have made other recipes as well with each coming out wonderfully. What I love, too, is experimenting with recipes, using a sugar-substitute or lower fat creams which makes homemade ice cream even more appealing. The moderately-loud sound that emits when the ice cream maker is working is not disturbing but, in fact, just adds to the anticipation of eating a delicious, homemade treat. The only thing I wish is that it made a larger amount because the ice cream just disappears, but this can be surmounted by making the ice cream in advance of when you need it, refreezing it in another freezer-proof container, and making a separate batch. This item makes a wonderful gift to a loved one or newly-married and especially to oneself!

Never thought making ice cream could be so easy. Bought this to help get protein in my diet after weight loss surgery. Yes, you heard (saw) me right. I can make low cal ice cream with added suppliments so easy, to keep me healthy. Clean up is a snap too. Great purchase and doesn't take up much counter space.

Really looking forward to next year's strawberry and blueberry seasons. Only made one batch of each so far and they were quite good. People who complain about the machine not making the ice cream hard enough do not seem to appreciate that it would be impossible to remove the ice cream and paddle/stirrer from the machine if the ice cream was fully hardened. To make a full two quarts of finished product (about 30% air content), I find it helpful to pre-chill the interior of the machine housing with frozen gel ice packs, process about 2/3 of the mix (enough mix to fill the frozen canister to about 1.5" below top horizontal bar of the stationary stirrer) for about 20 minutes or until the mix rises close to the top of the canister. Then, after removing 1 quart of the frozen product, add the balance of the mix and process for about another 15 or 20 minutes.

I like Haagen Daz but prefer to make my own because it permits better control over the sugar and butterfat content; and I get a lot of fresh eggs from a neighbor / friend.

The biggest downside is that the whole process of making a cooked custard based ice cream, including cleanups, takes the better part of three hours. Since the custard mix must be thoroughly chilled (refrigerated) for some 6 or so hours, the entire process of making a cooked custard based ice cream usually spans 2 days. It's helpful to have a 1.5 quart or bigger capacity double boiler for cooking the custard.

I love this ice cream maker. I bought Ben and Jerry's ice cream cookbook for recipies.The ice cream is made in 25 minutes!!! My whole family has had so much fun picking out recipes to try. It really is so quick and easy. The ice cream maker is very simple to use. The maker comes with a recipie book as well. It is used so much I've never put it in my cabinet. It has stayed on my countertop since the day it arrived!!!!
