"Gear broke!" 2010-08-28
By Deniece Clarke
I bought this blender 4 months ago when my VERY old Sunbeam blender finally gave out. I used it almost exclusively for smoothies, however after only a couple of months one of the plastic gears on the top of the base broke off. The blender still functioned and I continued to use it since I didn't have another one. A couple of weeks later another gear broke off. It's too late to return it to Amazon. Black and Decker is offering me an exchange, but I told them I don't want another one. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, or how hard I'll lean on Black and Decker, but I sure don't recommend buying this one. Even before it broke, it only did a so-so job. I bought an Oster blender and so far it's working nicely.

i was already using one .....but for some reasons the machine or the base stopped working n i had to replace it
it does all what it says it does...except for dry chopping which i have not tried yet
a heavy duty machine that goes on for long yrs to b your companion n make ur tough jobs easier
i would definitely recommend it to a friend..

"Very Heavy" 2010-08-27
By MBell (Diamond Bar, CA USA)
The container is made out of a thick glass which is probably good for durability but makes it very heavy. Motor is very powerful. Have had it 4 months under light use and no problems so far. I would probably not buy it again and instead would look for one with a plastic jug that my wife could handle more easily.

"Good value for money" 2010-08-22
By John
I own this blender for week and it works flawlessly it is very powerful even though it has just 450W motor blades spin very fast and at first i thought it had ~800W motor when i started it first.

I mainly use it for smoothies, and i add no water just fruits and then blend them to liquid and never yet had any peaces of fruit stuck under blade, this is big plus since with my old value blender i had so many stuff stuck under the blades even though i shake it and roll i could not get it out before opening it and getting stuff from beneath the blades. You have to shake this one also (i think its true with any blender if you run it dry) if you want to chop dry fruits (or start with more liquid like oranges) then add everything else when it already has liquid juice.

It looks sleek and fits my stylish kitchen well, and not like other $25 blenders that just look cheap.

In my opinion it has too many buttons i never read manual but seems like they all spin on about same speed. So i just use Liquify button for now. It also got pulse button and Ice chopper button, the container is made out of glass.

Cons:

*No safety switch if you remove glass container from top it still spin if you press any button. This is not safe and must be careful when cleaning. Wash the container and put back on as soon as you finished (Its good idea anyway since its hard to clean blades when they have dry food on them. While food still fresh all you have to do is rinse it off with water. To clean blades pour around 1-2 glasses of water and start blender for couple seconds so blades will clean themselves, then rinse again and viola i don't even use soap since fruits dissolve in water just fine and carry no bacteria, unlike meat). If it wasn't that easy to clean i would probably not use it every morning.

*Glass container is to loose its especially bad if you shake the blender like me, i almost slip off the base while motor was running and had minor damages to rotor because of this. Good thing its fixed easy by just placing some tape on the locking mechanism of the base you will figure it out and it wont show when container is on. But again make sure you unplug it before doing so because it has no protection.
